This week my husband surprised me with a gift. Let me just say, I have a wonderful husband, who is my best friend and after 9 years of marriage I still love a little bit more every day!
However, he is not the flower giving, restaurant reserving, baby sitter organising kind of guy. He is the type of guy that goes into the garage to pay for petrol, and would return with a can of coke for himself. (He has plenty of redeeming qualities, way too many to list… right honey 😉 !)
So when this arrived in the post I was blown away.
What is really special is the message it came with
“Make a wish and put on your necklace.”
So last night I made a wish, and I put on my necklace.
I took an hour to myself, ran a bath and thought about what I would wish for, (this thoughtful present giving husband to last?).
Once I decided, I wrote some stuff down and put it in the box.
Wether these wishes comes true or not, I actually really enjoyed the process. It reminded me how important it is to take time out from your husband and the kids at least once a week. I will definitely be making this a weekly habit!
I will still re-visit my wish box this time next year! You never know, this could be a magic necklace after all!
